Flea & Tick Policy

With warmer weather comes an increased risk of fleas and ticks. To keep all pets safe and comfortable, we have the following policy in place:

  • All dogs must be current on flea and tick prevention, unless exempt for medical reasons. Proof of treatment may be requested.

  • Do not bring your dog for grooming or bathing within 48 hours of applying a flea/tick preventative, to ensure it has time to take full effect.

  • All dogs will be checked for fleas and ticks upon arrival, before the owner leaves.

  • If fleas are found, your dog will be sent home immediately and the appointment will be canceled to prevent contamination of the grooming space.

  • If a significant number of ticks are found at any point during the appointment (embedded or not), your dog will be sent home and must be treated before rescheduling.

  • If a tick is embedded, it will not be removed by the groomer. You will be notified and advised to either remove it yourself or contact your veterinarian.

Treat and de-bug before your visit.

Even pets on prevention can still carry visible bugs. That’s why it’s essential to check your dog over before their appointment and remove any fleas or ticks you find. Prevention is step one—making sure your pup is bug-free before drop-off is just as important.

This policy helps us maintain a clean, healthy, and safe grooming environment for every pet we care for. It is non-negotiable and strictly enforced. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
